LUCIEN PIETRO
INSPIRATION BEHING THE ARTWORK
The inspiration for the project was 3 words accumulated between myself as the stylist and the digital artist/designer, mysterious, underwater and dark. With some reference points to nautical video games as well as the Plato’s Atlantis collection by my favourite designer McQueen.
BIOGRAPHY
I intertwine my Afro-Cuban roots into my European context through garment manipulation and the exploration of layering within styling. My most used stylistic element which is oversized comes from my own personal experiences with living in a post colonial world as a poc who always had to buy clothes with the thought of them fitting myself in 4 years. Poverty and the social prevention of my inclusion within fashion is what makes me fight for my place in it.

INSPIRATION BEHING THE ARTWORK
A capsule collection of eight digital and fashion collaborated artworks capturing an aquatic resident of the underwater scene styled by Lucian Príeto-Sánchez. The collaboration ignited commentary on the current digital fashion landscape bringing to light the crossover of physicality into digital extensions of fashion making and imagery so we concluded on combining a physical photoshoot and to creatively situate the looks in a digital set with a unique character to recreate a dark, mysterious and aquatic ambience to the images. The inspiration for the collection stems from a curiosity for deep sea environments and organisms alongside Mcqueen’s SS2010 Plato’s Atlantis showcase. The works highlight the character in multiple deep sea set designs and physical outfits that combined emphasize a mysterious editorial artistic approach.
BIOGRAPHY
I am a digital creator and fashion designer with a bachelors (hons) in fashion and textiles from UTS. During my Honours degree I taught myself CLO3D, UE4 and blender with the aim to push the limits of digital fashion. My work is driven based on a curiosity for aquarium cultures and the merge between digital and physicality especially during covid when we had to find new ways to create and distribute our work to reach wider forms of interactions and audiences.
